Event: Living With Sickle Cell

NBCPA event: living with sickle cell

Join us on Wednesday 8 July 2020 for a virtual session with sickle cell warrior Calvin Campbell to raise awareness of sickle cell, a disorder that affects people from certain ethnic backgrounds. In the UK, most people living with sickle cell are from African or Caribbean background.

Calvin Campbell is a campaigner, charity board member and also a member of B-positive choir (from Britain’s Got Talent 2018 finals). Calvin will share his story of being black and living with a disability, the major challenges it has caused, and how he has dealt with the challenges.

As a Sickle Cell Warrior and Advocate, I am so happy to know this interview is taking place. I volunteer my time with the Sickie Cell Cause Action and Support Group so I’m very interested to hear the first hand stories of my peers.
Everyone’s personal experience is a learning curb for the rest of us.
I look forward to this evening.
